Does an Expensive Whiskey Make an Expensive Cigar Better?
Luxury encourages a convenient assumption: combine two expensive things and the result must be exceptional. But cigar pairing does not work like arithmetic. A rare whiskey can overpower a refined cigar, while a reasonably priced bottle may reveal sweetness, cream, wood, or spice more clearly. The best pairing is not necessarily the most expensive one. It is the one in which both sides remain recognizable.
